Morning Workouts

Working out no matter what time of the day will help you get fit and lose weight.  For some people working out before noon sounds like a kind of torture.  If you are one of those people who cringe even at the word morning than the following might not be of any interest to you; however, before you go back to sleep consider this: morning workouts can actually be more effective than afternoon ones.  Working out first thing in the morning even before your breakfast has a host of benefits.  Morning workouts help on a variety of fronts.  Before you eat your muscles and your liver have less stored carbohydrates (glycogen).  Because you go from after super to breakfast time without food the glycogen levels in your body decline.  As such, your blood sugar is lower too.  This combination is actually a prime recipe for burning fat.  Some studies have in fact suggested that you may be able to burn up to three hundred percent more fat than working out later in the day!Not only will you be able to burn more fat during these morning workouts, however, but you’ll also be able to reap the benefits for hours after your session.  After your workout you have an accelerated metabolism. What this means is that you keep burning more fat after your workout than you would have had you not worked out.A higher metabolic rate also means that the calories you eat will be burned off quicker.  So assuming you eat your breakfast after your workout, your body will be able to burn off the calories much faster.Finally, another good reason for getting your workout in early is that this way you make sure that you do in fact workout.  If you wait until the end of the day it is much easier to make excuses.  After a long days work or with evening plans fitting in a workout can be a challenge.  By getting your workout in first thing in the morning you are sure to make this a priority.  Moreover, you’ll have something to feel good about for the rest of the day.
