Winemaker’s Top 8: Jasmine Hirsch

Born and bred in balmy California, schooled in gritty Philly with six years business experience in Prague-Amsterdam-NY, Jasmine came home to the eponymous Hirsch Vineyards to shine her light and spirit on sales, customer relations, plus learn the land, the vines, and the wines. In addition to providing fruit to several word-class cult wineries such as Littorai, Williams Selyem and Kistler, Hirsch makes their own incredible pinot noirs and a mad chardonnay.

It gets me to, from and around the vineyard. Its dusty as hell, but it gets the job done.

For its umami goodness.

Because I love the connection to the people who make it.

Gotta hydrate after all that wine.

I love the magic of a great restaurant and the commitment of those who make it happen every night. Zuni is one of my favorites. Ive been going there since I was a kid and our mom would take us.

I burn easy and have sweet blood.

To be connected to the land and farming is a gift.

Without them, everything else is meaningless.
